Training intensive workshop in terms of inventory and monitoring developmental assistance in the Diplomacy Institution

On 21/3/2017, workshop to inventory and monitoring developmental assistance has been launched in the Diplomacy Institution. The respective workshop shall continue for two days. Delegates from all Ministries and charity societies in civil community in Qatar shall participate therein, in addition to institute trainees; Staff of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The workshop works shall be managed by 3 trainers from Organization of economic cooperation and development (situated in Paris). The workshop opened by speech of His Excellency Ambassador Tareq Ali Hashim Al Ansari, whereas he emphasized the great importance which State of Qatar pays to the developmental goal No. 17; in respect of establishing universal partnership to achieving the sustainable development, under agreed upon basis in the Millennium Declaration and the International Financing for Development process which has been launched in Monteeri in 2002, as well as sustainable development process which was launched in Johannesburg in same year.

His Excellency Ambassador Al Ansari introduced the three trainers who shall manage the workshop, and further stated that selecting the trainers was made from Economical cooperation organization and development due to the cooperation and partnership relations between State of Qatar and the respective organization.

Mrs. Nadiah Al Sheebi; Diplomat Institution Assistant manager, welcomed the participants and said that such training intensive program on monitoring and inventory the developmental assistance, comes within the frame to activate cooperative relations with the economical cooperation and development organization, as State of Qatar has participant seat therein since 2016. Also the International cooperation directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participates in the organization meetings in its capacity as concerned contact point. Mrs. Al Sheebi also praised the great efforts which State of Qatar exploits to support the developmental goal No. 17. Such efforts are translated into offering grants, supporting the developmental projects therein, overcoming the problems and achieving the sustainable developments goals. She added, that Qatar State exploits the developmental efforts under voluntary basis, as it is from south states and member in group 77, Movement of Non-Aligned Countries, while the developmental official aids are considered literally and formal from developed countries and North States. The foregoing has been established by international agreements and obligations launched since the 70s.

She also referred to Qatar stand consistency to support and obligations and political declarations relating to development financing agenda; starting from Monteeri ideas harmony to finance the development accredited in 2002 at Mexico, hosting the 2^nd. International conference to finance development; which was concluded by Doha Declaration of 2008, then Addis Ababa declaration of 2015 and Istanbul Agenda to support the least developed countries.

Mrs. Maraze Ebaneeze addressed her speech and talked about workshop program for two days period. 1^st day shall be allocated to display statistical concepts and Benchmarks of all stakeholders in developmental cooperation in State of Qatar (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of developmental planning and Statistics, Qatar development fund, Ministry of economy and Trade and Qatari organizational body for charity activities), then offering the UGO shows. The participant shall focus on method to address the development cooperation through the UGO and funds offered by private sector, in addition to the statistical classifications: (Goals codes, Aid types, and so on, and data collection mechanisms inside Qatar). The second day, Mr. Ebaneese talked about the following Agenda;

• Meetings with the ministry of Foreign Affairs and other stakeholders
• Describing the statistical frame to measure the developmental cooperation (Official developmental aid concept, Wider measure of total official support of sustainable development),
• Qualification for offer official developmental aid
• Rules, examples, questions and replies ( Presentation by Trainers from Economical cooperation and development organization.
• UN vision Official developmental Aid / National income rate (discussions) – addressing money offered by governing institutions,
• Presenting follow up financial system ( By trainers)
• Other matters relating to qualification for developmental Aid. (Presentation from the Trainers).

Then the workshop opening has been declared
