Mediation: Norway as an example

This seminar was held on December 6,2016. Ms. Ton Bakey Vold Ilieris, director of peace management, reconciliation and settlement of disputes at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, was the speaker . At the outset of her speech she stressed that, her country is linked to the State of Qatar by a partnership in the field of mediation and disputes settlement, adding that there is a cooperation, coordination and exchange of opinions in many files between the two countries. For example the dispute in Djibouti and Eritrea , conflicts in Somalia, Iraq , and Afghanistan versus Talban.
She stressed saying," what motivated Norway to adopt such policy is the strong ethical commitment toward humanitarian issues". HE.Ms. Ileris ,also said ," there are five common principles in the Norwegian diplomatic activity, the first among these is the confidence in the importance of a dialogue between the parties for it is crucial for work facilitating and problems settlement.
