At the Diplomatic Institute A British-Qatari round table discussing the blockade on Qatar

October 23 2017

A round table organized by the Diplomatic Institute between a delegation from the British Royal College, and academics from Qatar University and Qatari diplomats, discussed the Gulf crisis following the blockade imposed by three Gulf countries and Egypt on Qatar since last June. The speakers reviewed the expected scenarios as the blockade continued; either to escalate or seeing an end.
"We are pleased at the Foreign Ministry’s Diplomatic Institute to host a delegation from Great Britain, the friendly country to talk about the Gulf crisis," said Mrs. Nadia Alshibi, Assistant Director of the Diplomatic Institute. This unjust blockade imposed by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt on Qatar since 5 June and encompassed all walks of life including the interference of these countries in breaking family's ties.
She also said: “You know that the blockade was imposed suddenly and without warning, which led the Qataris - to consider it as a kind of treachery - as said by His Highness the Emir of the country”.
