Director of the Diplomatic Institute discusses cooperation with the US Institute of Peace.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Horr, Director of the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs met in his office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a delegation from the United States Institute of Peace.

The delegation consisted of Mona Yacoubian, vice president of the Middle East and North Africa center at USIP, and Sasha Pippenger, the acting director of the inclusive peace processes and reconciliation team at USIP, Samantha Robinson, program specialist, and Maheera S., program assistant for the inclusive peace processes and reconciliation program.

The delegation presented a proposal for a training program for Qatari diplomats, with a view to strengthening their skills in conflict analysis and mediation in political crises and regional conflicts. Especially those working in the field of counter-terrorism and mediation.

His Excellency Dr. Al-Horr welcomed the delegation, noting the importance of bilateral cooperation in contributing to the development of capacities at the international level. His Excellency underscored the cooperation between the State of Qatar and several American scientific institutions.

HE said that the State of Qatar attaches great importance to the achievement of international peace and security and the resolution of conflicts, pointing out the significance of such a program and that the institute will study this proposal.
