HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sponsors Graduation Ceremony of DI's 8th Cohort Graduates – 2024, The Director of the Diplomatic Institute honors graduates of the Executive Master’s.

On May 18, 2024, Doha Institute for Graduate Studies celebrated the graduation of the eighth cohort of master’s students under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and in the honor of a lineup of Their Excellences Minister, senior guests, and the Chair of the Board of Trustees of Doha Institute for Graduate Studies and a number of Board of Trustees.
The ceremony held at the Sports and Events Complex at Qatar University saw 206 students graduate (11% more than last year), including 139 in Social and Human Sciences, 67 in the School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy, including 95 graduates supported by Qatar Fund for Development within the State of Qatar scholarship program for international students.
In remarks to the event Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Afandi, President of the Institute, said: "This is not a year as a whole. Not every academic year our colleagues and students constantly receive successive heartbreaking news of the loss of entire families of relatives, in uninterrupted massacres. He thanked the volunteers from the Institute and those who supported them from outside, who worked around the clock to alleviate the suffering of Gazans students, colleagues in Qatar.
"We also commend the contribution of the State of Qatar and its leadership in supporting the people of Gaza, diplomatically, humanely and in media. Thanks go to all those who have contributed to making Qatar a beacon of humanity”.
Al-Afandi noted that during the year, the Institute has completed most of the requirements for the Institute's global formal accreditation and programs.
Dr. Ibrahim Fraihat, Dean for Student Affairs, addressed graduates, saying, "You have acquired knowledge for years in this institution, and now it is time for you to present it to your homelands and to the world. Today, you reached the optimal success, and we reached the height of our happiness as we see you as scientific icons of diligence and devotion to values.”
Before the end of the ceremony, a video was displayed to the graduates of the eighth cohort documenting their success stories, after which His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Institute, Dr. Azmi Bishara, Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Afandi, President of the Institute and deans of colleges, handed over certificates to the graduates.
While Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Horr, Director of the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, honored the third batch of graduates of the Executive Master's Program in Diplomatic Studies and International Cooperation.
