Scientific Trip to Switzerland for Executive Master's Students in Diplomatic Studies and International Cooperation

The Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of Qatar in Geneva and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, organized a study visit to Switzerland (Geneva) for outstanding diplomats participating in the Executive Master's Program in Diplomatic Studies and International Cooperation (Class of 2024) from September 30 to October 4, 2024.

The visit program included several important lectures for diplomats and professionals in international organizations, including the International Labour Organization, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The diplomats were able to closely observe the nature of interactions within these organizations among member states and how international relations and interests are managed.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Horr, Director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized the importance of study visits in understanding best practices and global experiences. He reaffirmed the institute's commitment to developing human resources within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enhance Qatar's diplomatic role effectively.

Participants confirmed that the study visit to Geneva provided them with valuable knowledge and skills in the field of diplomacy and international affairs.
