
At the invitation of the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a panel discussion was organized in cooperation with Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) titled “The War on Iran and the changing Regional Landscape.” The session featured Professor Mehran Kamrava, Professor of Political Science at Georgetown University in Qatar and a specialist in modern political history and contemporary Middle Eastern affairs, with a particular focus on Gulf politics, Iran, and the role of small states in international relations.
The discussion addressed the repercussions of the war on Iran and its implications for the political and security balances in the region amid the rapid transformations in the regional security structure. It also examined the impact of the war on Iran’s domestic situation, regional alliance networks, and the future role of international powers in the Middle East.
The session was attended by a number of Qatari diplomats at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to representatives from the State’s missions abroad.
